Management - summary
The company is owned and managed by Peter Ward. It brings together a diversity of skills in the form of a sub-contract team of tradesmen with whom management have worked for a number of years. It is the intimate knowledge that these team members have of each others skills that allows the group to function quickly and efficiently in completing projects. One of our key competitive advantages is the fact that the managers and owners of the company are capable of physically doing almost every job that they ask of the trades team, and can offer help and alternative solutions to the problems which often occur. Financial, Health and Safety, and Employment management is undertaken by Royal Bank of Scotland consultant services. This outsourcing of critical functions allows the Principals to concentrate on building and client liaison.
Overview of Capabilities
As a building company, we undertake most aspects of construction from small extensions to large restoration projects. The management team has over 45 years experience in the industry and have trained to a high level in various specialist areas of traditional building techniques. Our workforce also has the skills necessary to undertake restoration work on period properties. We are happy to work to contracted schedules and time limits. Work undertaken ranges from initial design to groundworks, construction, restoration and landscaping. Specific capabilities include:
- Repair and cleaning of stone and brickwork; re-pointing using lime
- Stone walling - drystone, or mortar bedded
- External lime render finishes and all aspects of plaster work including conventional board and skim, lime plaster, lath and plaster, moulded plaster products, internal and external stucco repairs, porticos, columns and in-situ mouldings;
- Timber framing - repairs to timber framed buildings, construction of new frame buildings
- Detailed finishing carpentry, including fitted kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms, oak panelling, and custom made timber architraves,staircases,skirtings and shutters;
- All aspects of general plumbing – fitting bathrooms, shower rooms and kitchens, design and installation of complete heating systems
- Two Principals are involved in the equestrian world, and regularly undertake equestrian projects, building stable blocks and maneges.

Structural:
Bricklaying / Blockwork / Steelwork / Insulation etc
Oak Supply - we maintain close links with a local sawmill, and select and supply all our own air dried oak for framing projects
Structural - Roofing / Carcassing / Windows / Doors / Cladding etc
Finishing – All finishing joinery in hardwood and softwood eg. Doors/ Frames/ Staircases / Shutters/ Cupboards/ Wardrobes etc.
We have developed a system of shutter / shutter box design which allows us to pre-construct shutters for any size window, complete with boxes, for easy fitting to new build, or retro fit to older properties. These come ready hinged and fitted into the boxes.
Experienced kitchen fitters – have worked with Charles Yorke and Wycliffe of Warwickshire amongst others.
Our specialists are trained and qualified to undertake specialist lime plaster work.
Specialist knowledge of Render finishes

Experienced sub-contract team with specialist knowledge of security/ computer controlled environments.
Plumbing:
All aspects of first and second fix plumbing, including installation of domestic and commercial heating systems
Painting:
Painting, Decorating – internal and external. Specialised finishes including gold leaf application and traditional paint finishes .
Background Experience:
The Directors have a combined experience of over 45 years in the building industry, both at ground level, and in project management. Within the company we have extensive experience in working with older properties, and the problems and solutions associated with damp proofing, materials and building techniques. Where we feel in-house knowledge is insufficient, we have a good knowledge base of relevant consultants.
Equestrian:
Two Directors are experienced in the design, construction and maintenance of equestrian properties. We have built a number of stable blocks and maneges and have worked with a variety of modern manege surface alternatives.
